The Italian ceramic tile industry’s unique focus on knowledge management and human resource training has been an important factor contributing to its efficiency and competitiveness worldwide.

Through a network of agreements and conventions, Confindustria Ceramica has aimed to forge strong links between the working world and education while maintaining a constant commitment to professional training.

Many of the initiatives carried out in conjunction with Italian universities and institutions (including the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the Italian Ceramic Centre in Bologna) involve issues relating to management and industrial processes of ceramic companies as well as international marketing.

A number of courses in the more technical aspects of ceramic tile production have been organised for students and sector employees with the aim of training highly specialised professional figures in the fields of accident prevention, protection of the environment and workplace safety.
