Confindustria Ceramica

Fall Injury prevention

A CD-ROM entitled “Risk of falling from heights” addressing the issues of workplace safety and fall injury risk was presented in the conference hall of the Association.

This useful new IT tool stems from an awareness of the importance of safety as a key value of company activities. It follows the signing in September 2002 of the “Memorandum of understanding for the prevention of injuries due to falling from heights in ceramic factories” by Confindustria Ceramica, the Modena and Reggio Emilia local health authorities, the employers’ associations and the trade unions.

Confindustria Ceramica has produced this first CD-ROM on reducing the occurrence of fall injuries in cooperation with the Modena and Reggio Emilia local health authorities and CERFORM as part of a long-term programme of initiatives and actions to improve accident prevention. It will be followed by other initiatives under the collective title of the “CerAmica Project” with the aim of providing tools and initiatives to improve health and safety in ceramic factories.

The training and information programme is aimed not only at people working directly on roofs but also at technical department managers, foremen and all persons responsible for safety within companies as well as teachers, students and lecturers at training schools.
