System moves towards integrated and flexible factories

The System Group presents innovation for integrated and flexible ceramic production units at Tecnargilla 2014 (hall A1). In short, technology solutions to build so-called smart factories of the future, today. A long-term process that leads to a historical production and management breakthrough, between ceramics and logistics. A change in culture and obviously investments are required to understand and pursue this path.
The technologies installed in the production units are the ones that adapt to the formats, including maxi tiles, and to “just in time” changing requirements rather than the opposite. Flexibility is, first and foremost, removes limits forced by formats towards automation.
An overview of the 22 solutions on display in Hall A1 is essential to understand the effect that these systems have on factory production. Not mere machines but rather process systems.
There are three main areas of referenc                                                                                   e. Pressing, with the GEA press without a mold; decorating with different developed Creadigit models up to the XXL for large tiles; the end of the line with the Multigecko sorter and the proven 4Phases packaging machine. Energy savings (sometimes up to 50% compared to the standard); savings in raw materials, attention to the environment and consumables arise as a result of good management of the production process, the mission when building technological machines for ceramics.

The area dedicated to making large tiles will see the GEA press without a mold as the main attraction, while the end-of-line sees a new generation with the latest technologies created by System combined with the more established ones: quality control with Qualitron, Multigecko sorting machine with two rows, 4Phases packaging machine, Griffon palletiser, Easy Line FV08 paired with Multigecko with 12 stackers.

On show in the area dedicated to decoration is the Creadigit at 400 and 200 DPI with DSP hardware for colour profiling created by System Electronics. There will also be the Rotocolor XL for traditional decorations on large formats. The finished product will be visible in the temporary show room: graphics on Laminam sheets and on tiles, in the TosiLab area creative projects for innovative surfaces.

Storage is managed by the Nuova Era solutions. Robofloor is the top of the range for the storing fired material on platforms moved by particularly simple and spacious shuttles up to 400 square meters. In the Robobox, the productivity recovery reaches 30% as the roller conveyor system is positioned on an elevator which, thanks to its lateral and vertical displacement, eliminates down time for box changes.

Logistics also has its space with the Modula Sintes1, automatic vertical magazine with useful drawers for storing molds, spare parts and other equipment for the ceramics production unit, and the automated guided vehicles AGV, another crucial step towards efficient and smart factories. The System Electronics division presents the A8 industrial controllers and the new 21.5-inch console.
