2T Training for Tile project
This partnership between Confindustria Ceramica and FORMEDIL aims to raise the professional standard of tile fixers by organising training activities in conjunction with building schools
On 31 May 2011 Confindustria Ceramica signed an agreement with FORMEDIL to promote training of ceramic tile fixers.The partnership between Confindustria Ceramica and the building sector training institute FORMEDIL aims to raise the professional standard of tile fixers by organising training activities in conjunction with the building schools belonging to FORMEDIL.
Following the positive experience of the first pilot training course for instructors held in Bologna from 11 to 13 January 2012, numerous Building schools have signed up with the 2 T – TRAINING FOR TILE project, organising training courses for tile fixers or expressing their willingness to do so in the period March-May 2012.
In any case, the 2T – TRAINING FOR TILE project will continue for the entire two-year period 2012-2013 and will consist of at least 60 theoretical and practical courses for tile fixers, whether employees of tile fixing companies, artisans or owners of small businesses.
Two levels of theoretical and practical training courses will be available for tile fixers: basic and advanced. Each course will have a duration of 40 hours split between theory and practice (classroom and workshop sessions) according to the agreed course syllabus. The school will issue a certificate after assessing the level attained by the participant. The courses will be given by the building school instructors.
Through this initiative, Confindustria Ceramica aims to improve the quality of training by actively determining the contents and quality of training activities in cooperation with building schools. The ultimate aim is to improve the average quality of tile installation work and to contribute to training a new generation of tile fixers approved by the producers themselves.
This project offers the ceramic tile manufacturers a number of opportunities. Firstly, their local sales organisations, distribution networks and showrooms can organise local training courses on the premises of the building schools that have already joined the project and have their tile fixers take part in the courses, thereby offering their customers an interesting new service.
Furthermore, the companies can propose the initiative to building schools that have not yet joined so as to actively promote the project.
