To face the economic crisis Spanish ceramic tile manufacturers have developped an independent approach based on deep internal restructuring and simplified inner organization. They have concentrated sales on emerging markets and reduced the average total price to increase sales volume. Such an approach puts Spain on a slightly lower step. This recipe has proven successful considering added value has maintained stable and profitability is rising thanks to productivity.
The only drawback: heavy tax burdens that set to zero final profitability. This new approach, which started in 2012, seems to be the right one to face the tail end of the crisis.
