Confindustria Ceramica

Consortia Cer-Energia

Set up in February 2000, the Consortium now comprises 43 ceramic companies and 58 factories with a total consumption of about 250 million kWh/year of electrical energy and 200 million cubic metres/year of natural gas.

Since it was set up, the Consortium has enabled member companies to make total savings of more than 10 million euro, thereby lowering their manufacturing costs in spite of a difficult general situation (with a more than 50% increase in the price of natural gas in the year 2000 alone).

To achieve these savings, the Consortium signed contracts for the purchase of electrical energy and natural gas with the leading market operators Snam, Enel Trade and Energia S.p.A. in accordance with the Bersani decree for the liberalisation of the energy market.
