The Members’ Meeting also elected the five vice chairmen: Augusto Ciarrocchi, Luigi Di Carlantonio, Franco Manfredini, Filippo Manuzzi and Emilio Mussini.

Giovanni Savorani, born in Faenza (RA) 71 years ago, is married with two children. After graduating from the technical specialisation course at the State Institute of Ceramic Art in Faenza in 1968, he worked for seven years as the plant manager of the Bologna-based ceramic company Barbieri e Burzi. In July 1977 he was appointed technical manager of CAST, holding the position for ten years. In April 1987 he joined Cooperativa Ceramica di Imola to manage the new porcelain tile facility, then in June 1990 he was appointed Sales Director of Sacmi Imola. In November 1994 he moved to Ceramiche La Faenza where he took on the role of General Manager, then in May 2005 he was appointed General Manager of Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola. In July 2006 he began his entrepreneurial career with the launch of Gigacer spa, of which he has been Chairman of the Board since the company was founded. Giovanni Savorani has been Chairman of Confindustria Ceramica since 6 June 2018. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors since 2013 and has also been a member of the Technical Standards Committee.

Gigacer spa operates a factory with a production capacity of 1.2 million square metres in the Imola-Faenza ceramic cluster and has 73 employees. It has always devoted particular attention to product quality, workplace safety and environmental sustainability. Right from the outset it used the innovative Continua technology for large size tile production, developing 120x120 cm porcelain floor tiles as early as 2007. In 2007 it also introduced unconventional systems such as horizontal rather than vertical palletisation and reduced its use of packaging materials to a minimum.
