ECONOMY, ECOLOGY AND INNOVATION GO TOGETHER
by Andrea Serri

As it happens in other areas, investments in innovation and technology for the ceramic sector  are driven by different strategies. An investment larger than 5% of total turnover will mainly address new machinery and products, and will be as much production-driven as green, environmentally oriented and energy-saving. While there will be great attention to production costs (ever more retented and market-linked than in the past) particular consideration will be given to environmental impact, by diminishing raw materials and cutting off unnecessary energy. Once cheered and supported as rivals, economy and ecology today go hand in hand to build the industry of the 21st century’s together.
