The effort of the Italian industry of ceramic tiles has concerned the whole production chain: new technologies have been developped through important investments (5% of annual turnover) aimed at multiplying the fields of application of the products. At the same time tax incentives for the upgrading of Italy’s building heritage need to be confirmed and the first City Plans, defined and approved months ago, to be financed. The magic link functions only when each of the parties plays their part. The alternative is dissipation of resources, efforts, prospects of wealth and well-being. The green economy, the final frontier for Chinese tiles The local construction market is slowing down and hence the profits in the mid-range of the market is also falling off. Manufacturers for the high end of the market and exports are increasingly interested in the quality and reliability of Italian technology.
