FLEXIBILITY
OF ITALIAN CERAMIC TILES

The concern on productivity has left the place to more sophisticated technological investments in the production flexibility of Italian ceramic tiles. If flexibility once just concerned changes in shape and colour, today it also deals with the need to react in case of unpredicted changes due to unpredictable demand. The system’s ability to be changed to produce new products types “in process” is able to face new market needs while optimizing production costs through the increase of productivity on a single line. This was unthinkable of until a few years ago, and it’s starting to give good results. When will we have market demand – driven manufacturing?

Australia: consumption rises 4%
