| One of the main tasks of the Assopiastrelle Study Centre is to provide an overall picture of the association’s two represented sectors through an analysis of all the main structural factors. For this purpose, every year it produces the National Statistical Survey of the Ceramic Tile Industry and the Compendio Statistico (Statistical Digest) for refractory materials. NATIONAL STATISTICAL SURVEY. A survey – carried out in even years since 1972 and annually since 1991 – of all industrial-level ceramic tile manufacturing companies operating in Italy (both Assopiastrelle members and non-members), for the purpose of acquiring structural data on the sector. This includes production (divided up according to product type and size, by direct activity and outsourcing), production capacity, sales analysed according to market distribution methods (direct sales in Italy, exports, marketing) and value data such as Italian and export turnover and investments. The survey gives a comprehensive picture of the state of the sector in terms of production, economics and technology using figures provided by the companies themselves. STATISTICAL DIGEST. An annual survey, conducted from 1991 onwards, of all industrial-level companies producing refractory materials in Italy, for the purpose of analysing the key characteristics of the sector such as number of companies, employees, output of each different product type, exports, total turnover and customer sectors. The survey gives a comprehensive picture of the state of the sector in terms of production, economics and technology using figures provided by the companies themselves. The survey is made available to member companies during the Assopiastrelle Members’ Meeting and two months later to other persons/bodies upon application (centrostudi@assopiastrelle.it) |
