| The 2011 Members’ Meeting confirms the Chairman for the two-year period 2011-2012 with 100% of the votes At the Confindustria Ceramica Members’ Meeting held today, Tuesday 7 June 2011, Franco Manfredini was re-elected as the Association’s Chairman for the two-year period 2011-2012 with 100% of votes. On 8 March , the Association’s Executive Board ratified Franco Manfredini’s nomination made by the Designation Committee, headed by Angelo Borelli together with Viterbo Burani and Alessandro Scopetti. Franco Manfredini first joined the Assopiastrelle Executive Board in May 1986 and has served as chairman of various advisory committees, including ‘Technical Standards’, ‘Training, School and University’ and ‘Environment and Safety’, and has also been a member of the ‘Statistics and Editorial Activities’ committee. Within the Italian Employers’ Federation Confindustria, Franco Manfredini has been the Chairman of the Fondazione Confindustria Ceramica e Laterizio since its foundation and is a member of the Federation’s executive board. In 1961 he was the first employee of Casalgrande Padana, becoming Chairman and Managing Director in 1974. Following the acquisition of the Gruppo Ceramiche Ri.Wal., Casalgrande Padana has become a group with a turnover of 285 million euro, 70% of which is generated by exports. It has six production facilities, all located in the Sassuolo – Scandiano ceramic district, a production capacity of 35 million square metres, and a total of 1,100 employees. |
